Zhong Xin Dao I Liq Chuan: “Four Strategies” with Joshua Craig

Pre-requisites: No previous experience is required to attend. This workshop is open to all participants!

This two-day workshop is part of an ongoing series presenting Zhong Xin Dao I Liq Chuan’s Philosophy, Concepts and Principles. Each workshop may be also be taken as a stand-alone experience.

In Zhong Xin Dao I Liq Chuan we observe the 5-4-4-3:

• 5 – Five Qualities of Movement Unification
• 4 – Four Qualities of Contact Unification
• 4 – Four Strategies
• 3 – Three Engagements

In this two-day workshop we will be looking at the Four Strategies:

• Outside to Close
• Inside to Open
• Open to Project
• Close to Absorb

We will focus on the Four Strategies to propel Engagement (Circle with Center, Center to Center, Center with the Cross) using a selection of movements and applications. During this time, you will have the chance to work with a variety of partners, developing your ability to maintain attention both on yourself and at the point of contact.

Instructor Joshua Craig is certified to teach Zhong Xin Dao I Liq Chuan by Grandmaster Sam F.S. Chin. He leads classes and workshops in New York City, as well in various cities around the world, and at the annual summer camp in Poland.

Joshua will be leading workshops throughout the year to present the Zhong Xin Dao I Liq Chuan program of basic exercises and home practice methods, so that participants may continue their exploration of these mind-body principles.
